Intermed aims at supporting and promoting each and every aspect of the human being, in any context, no matter his/her religious and political beliefs, by realizing emergency and structural development social-health projects.
Working with public and private non-profit organizations, Intermed and its staff are committed to improve local health service quality and efficiency, to promote primary care medicine and community healthcare, to train doctors, nurses and technicians, and to provide biomedical equipment.
Intermed projects always start with an explicit request from local communities and local partners are involved in any choice, with a perspective of self-development and self-determination.
Intermed staff has worked in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe over the years, realizing:
– hospitals, urban and rural dispensaries, labs and multifunctional diagnostic centers (Burkina Faso, Burundi, Nigeria, Uganda);
– health projects and community development integrated projects, environmental hygiene, health education and training (Benin, Romania, India, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Somalia, Tanzania);
– health schools contributing to local specialists training (Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Mali, Congo, Togo)
– emergency actions to face natural disasters, wars and so on (Italy, Nepal, Syria, Haiti, Albania, Congo, Eritrea, Kosovo, Rwanda).
All this would have been impossible without the help of those who have always supported and encouraged us. Just to mention some:
